Dash Subdue - This upgrade to Dash Strike allows you to subdue an enemy after a Smoke Dash. While not a full stun, it will allow you to get in several quick strikes without retaliation. Dash Strike - When you get close to an enemy during a Smoke Dash, you can hit the melee button and come out of it swinging, stumbling an enemy. From what I read, it can be finished in 4 hours and that is simply too short for me. Over all, I'm going to give it a 7.Īfter playing this, I'm not sure I would buy First Light. I know I can do a second run with the Evil Karma, but I didn't like this game that much to do that. I'm kinda disappointed with how short this is. This is the shortest open world game that was originally released for the current gen consoles, I've ever played. However I still finished it under two weeks. Knowing this game is short, I took my time. Then the Paper Trail side quest was boring and repetitive. I also don't think they really made the most out of all the abilities the character got. But still, the main story was short and the characters were quite underdeveloped. I really liked it when I got new abilities, those were the exciting parts of the game. Some of the missions were challenging, especially the boss fights but not frustrating. It was engaging even though the characters fell flat to me. The saving grace of this game is the main story. So thats something this game has that other open world games don't have in the ps4. However, this is one of the few games I've played that uses the motion sensor of the ps4 controller and its touchpad as a touchpad. The playable character doesn't have costume changes except for the print design in his jacket, which is hardly noticeable. I only got the nice weather after I beat the main game. I don't like that this game doesn't have a night and day cycle, it depends with the last main mission you finished. The graphics are good but I'm not a fan of the lighting, even when I adjusted the brightness. When I started to free roam, I managed to almost finish every side stuff in the first region and activated almost every smoke ability before I started the next main story mission. The map is small and the playable character can superspeed run anyway. The fast travel here is useless, like it only needs 2 fast travel locations. Aside from the small map, there's not a lot of side things to do here. The playable character having powers reminds me of the 2018 Spider-Man and Arkham games, and the map of those game feels large compare to this. The map is too small and it feels like a small town when you roam around and the roads aren't wide. My problem with the Just Cause games is the map is too big, and its the opposite here. This game weirdly feels small and I didn't really miss out by not picking this up before. I only picked this up because of Ghost of Tsushima. I liked that I played another PS4 eXclusive and another open world IP.
